Golf

Golf is the closest game to the game we call life.  You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots, but you have to play the ball where it lies.
– Bobby Jones

The West Lake course, designed by Donald Ross protégé and Pinehurst native Ellis Maples, is a traditional course known for its impeccable playing conditions and its TifEagle Bermuda greens that run 11.0-12.0 on the stimpmeter. The course opened in 1969 on a 700-acre site, with water features on seven of its 18 holes. West Lake will challenge and reward players of all levels with tee options ranging from 5,289 to 6,857 yards and its brand new 320-yard driving range with TifGrand Bermuda and practice areas for sand trap and fairway or greenside bunker shots. West Lake is an Augusta tradition for guests from around the world. View the hole-by-hole course tour.

Pouring rain late last night early this morning. We had just under 2" here at the course combines with the showers we had during the day yesterday. Mowed fairways yesterday. Cutting new cups today. Rolling greens and repairing bunkers.

On the course.

Didn't get as cold as predicted. No delay this morning. Rolling greens and raking bunkers. Forecast is for mid 20s in the morning. Maybe they will miss the forecast again. 90 degrees on most holes today.

On the course.

There will be frost delays both days this weekend.  Saturdays delay should not be to long.  Sundays delay may be several hours.  We did a light topdress on greens yesterday with black sand.  Looking forward to better weather in the near future.
